Hamilton extends road losing streak to eight

Recap: Hamilton Marines vs. South Bend Clay Colonials

The Hamilton Marines's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against South Bend Clay, falling 46-7. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hamilton has scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Bend Clay to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rachel Hunt, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kira Miller, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals.

Hamilton dropped their record down to 3-12 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.1 points per game. As for South Bend Clay, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-17 record this season.

Hamilton on the road again on Friday and play against Bethany Christian at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Bethany Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hamilton in Indiana (Bethany Christian is ranked 182nd, while Hamilton is ranked 395th). As for South Bend Clay, they will take on Mishawaka Marian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
