Football Recap: Carson Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Carson can now relate to. They lost 30-7 to the Montgomery Central Timberwolves on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 35 points in the game before, the Cougars couldn't push the score so high this time.

Griffin Barber threw for 146 yards on 13 of 21 attempts. Zay Phillips was his top target, picking up 87 receiving yards. On the ground, Rosean Perkins rushed for 50 yards.

Carson now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Montgomery Central, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-6 record.

Carson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Montgomery Central, they are taking a road trip to square off against Hickory at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Timberwolves will need to watch out since the Red Tornadoes have now posted at least 31 points in their last nine contests.
