Basketball Game Preview: Willapa Valley Vikings vs. Mary M. Knight Owls

The Willapa Valley Vikings will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Mary M. Knight Owls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Willapa Valley will be strutting in after a win while Mary M. Knight will be coming in after a loss.

Last Thursday, everything came up roses for Willapa Valley against Columbia Adventist Academy as the team secured a 48-21 victory.

Willapa Valley found their leader in freshman Tylar Keeton, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 20 boards. The dominant performance gave Keeton a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Matlock, who posted six points and three steals.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 66 points the game before, Mary M. Knight was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They took a blow against Naselle, falling 48-19. The Owls haven't had much luck with the Comets recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

The win got Willapa Valley back to even at 1-1. As for Mary M. Knight, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Everything went Willapa Valley's way against Mary M. Knight in their previous matchup back in February, as Willapa Valley made off with a 54-32 victory. Will Willapa Valley repeat their success, or does Mary M. Knight have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
