Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Thursday. Stratford Academy fell just short of Sherwood Christian Academy by a score of 3-2. Stratford Academy's loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Stratford Academy wouldn't go down easily and took Sherwood Christian Academy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 24-26, 19-25, 17-15.

Despite the defeat, Stratford Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Bea Leary had 15 digs and four assists. Leary is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last six games she's played. Emme Glenn also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Stratford Academy's loss dropped their record down to 19-12. As for Sherwood Christian Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-14.

Stratford Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Calvary Christian on the 4th. As for Sherwood Christian Academy, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against St. Mary's Academy on the 4th.
