Standley Lake dropped down to 4-6 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They had to suffer through a 56-3 loss at the hands of the Holy Family Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 136th, while the Tigers are ranked 39th).
As for Holy Family, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.9 points on average over those games.
Browen Wills was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 120 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. His longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards.
