Baseball Game Preview: Irvington Preparatory Academy vs. Trinity Lutheran Cougars

Irvington Preparatory Academy will venture away from home to challenge the Trinity Lutheran Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Irvington Preparatory Academy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Irvington Preparatory Academy played against Providence Cristo Rey on Saturday and won via forfeit.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Trinity Lutheran nor Clarksville made it on the board until the eighth inning. The Cougars narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Generals 4-2. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Generals recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Bode Brooks made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over eight innings pitched. He is becoming a predictor of Trinity Lutheran's success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is 4-1 (and 4-8 when he doesn't). Brooks was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Brody Brown was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in May of 2025.

Irvington Preparatory Academy's record now sits at 13-8. As for Trinity Lutheran, their record is now 8-9.
