Volleyball Recap: West Broward Bobcats vs. Pembroke Pines Charter Jaguars
West Broward was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pembroke Pines Charter Jaguars. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.
West Broward took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-23, 20-25, 25-22, 15-11.
Lukas Chiarella paced West Broward's offense, picking up 18 kills. Chiarella got some help from Max Fischman and his 54 assists.
Elier Gil was nothing short of spectacular for Pembroke Pines Charter: he had 28 digs and two assists. Those 28 digs gave Gil a new career-high.
West Broward's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Pembroke Pines Charter, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
West Broward wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Everglades on the 7th. As for Pembroke Pines Charter, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against McArthur on the 7th.
