Baseball Recap: Atholton Triumphs

Atholton came out on top against River Hill on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Raiders walked away with an 8-4 win over the Hawks. The game was the first time the Raiders have beaten the Hawks on their field since March 31, 2023.

Atholton gave JR Bott the start and clearly made the right call: he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Bott has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jordan Dailey, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Weinig, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one double.

Atholton now has a winning record of 7-6. As for River Hill, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-5-1 record this season.

Atholton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 7-6 defeat against Reservoir on the 27th. As for River Hill, they have also already played their next matchup, a 9-6 victory against Long Reach on the 27th.
