Recap: Aurora Central Trojans vs. George Washington Patriots

After flying high against the Gateway Olympians last Thursday, the Aurora Central Trojans came back down to earth. Aurora Central had to suffer through a rough 60-15 loss at the hands of George Washington. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Aurora Central has suffered yet this season.

Aurora Central's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jamaea Johnson Gonzalez, who scored a point along with 12 rebounds and three steals, and Alayna McClain who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals. McClain is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead George Washington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brittany Booker, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Madisyn Honeycutt was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds and two steals.

Aurora Central's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for George Washington, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Aurora Central will take on Thornton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Thornton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Friday. As for George Washington, they will be playing at home against Thomas Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Thomas Jefferson is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
