Baseball Recap: Muskogee Takes a Loss

Muskogee had lost four straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 7-20 to make it five. They fell just short of the Bartlesville Bruins by a score of 4-3. That's two games in a row now that the Roughers have lost by just one run.

Muskogee saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Truth Dedmon, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

As for Bartlesville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-9. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games.

On Bartlesville's side, Sam Hill was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Hill is becoming a predictor of the Bruins' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 7-9 when he doesn't). Kanin Romesburg was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

While Muskogee had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
