Football Recap: Cameron's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

Cameron easily dispatched River last Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Dragons fell just short of the Tyler Knights by a score of 14-12 on Friday. The contest was a 6-6 toss-up at halftime, but the Dragons couldn't quite close it out.

Despite the loss, Cameron still got an impressive performance from Marshall Holland, who picked up 40 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 70 yards on only nine carries.

Even if they lost, Cameron's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. In that department, Talen Brown was the leader with two.

Having lost for the first time this season, Cameron fell to 3-1. As for Tyler, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Cameron will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Valley at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. As for Tyler, they will venture away from home to square off against Magnolia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will be up against the Blue Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 44.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
