Recap: Abbeville Panthers vs. Mid-Carolina Rebels

The Abbeville Panthers waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top against Mid-Carolina by a score of 63-51. Given Abbeville's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while Mid-Carolina is ranked 212th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Abbeville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Justin Rollinson, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Damarcus Leach was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.

Abbeville pushed their record up to 8-2 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Mid-Carolina, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Abbeville will head out on the road to take on Newberry at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Newberry has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 328 points over their last five matches. As for Mid-Carolina, they will be playing at home against Saluda at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
