Football Recap: Owen Valley Takes a Loss + How To Watch

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 49-7, which was the final score in the Owen Valley Patriots's tilt against the Heritage Christian Eagles on Friday. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Parker Greene threw for 30 yards on four of 11 attempts. On the ground, Jacob Heidrick rushed for 53 yards and one touchdown.

Heritage Christian had a senior duo take command as Eli Nix rushed for 31 yards and a pair of scores and Elijah Pimental gained 124 total yards and two touchdowns. Nix also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Eagles are 4-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise. Tysen Pauwels was another key player, picking up 89 receiving yards and one TD.

Owen Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Heritage Christian, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Owen Valley will challenge Madison at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will be up against the Cubs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 40.56 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Heritage Christian, they will face off against Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Raiders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 25.89 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
