Football Game Preview: Canyon View Jaguars vs. ALA - Gilbert North Eagles + Official Tickets

Two dominant signal callers in Brady Scott and Ben Livingston are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Canyon View Jaguars will venture away from home to take on the ALA - Gilbert North Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Canyon View knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully ALA - Gilbert North likes a good challenge.

Canyon View is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 38-28 win over Desert View.

Canyon View didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Tavin Bayer, Rece Landis, and Keegan McCarthy picked up one apiece. Landis is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least seven every time he's taken the field this season. Canyon View got some further help from Jackson McCarthy: he picked up a sack and made 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, ALA - Gilbert North faced Arizona College Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Eagles took down the Knights 38-20. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

ALA - Gilbert North's win came from a few key players Canyon View will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Weston Powell, who rushed for 62 yards and one score, and also caught one touchdown.

One reason for the win was ALA - Gilbert North's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Zyon Leuluai was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. Another thorn in Arizona College Prep's side was Kutter Thorley, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made six total tackles.

ALA - Gilbert North's win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Canyon View, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.
