The Chiefland Indians will face off against the Trenton Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chiefland is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
Chiefland is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over Williston.
Taylor Brown spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Trey Meeks was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Chiefland is undefeated when Meeks posts two or more runs, but 7-9 otherwise. Bryce Thomas also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Trenton made sure to put some runs up on the board against Dixie County on Tuesday. The Tigers blew past the Bears 19-3. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.
The team relied heavily on Mason VunCannon, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Jordan Marlo was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Trenton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .727. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Trenton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Chiefland, their record is now 13-9.
Chiefland suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Trenton in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
