Basketball Recap: More Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Conrad Schaper and Anthony Selway

More played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 71-51 to the Basis Independent Silicon Valley Bobcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-51 back in January.

More's loss came despite strong showings from Anthony Selway and Conrad Schaper. Selway posted 17 points, while Schaper earned nine points and seven rebounds. The game was Selway's third in a row with at least 15 points.

Even though they lost, More smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Basis Independent Silicon Valley was led to victory by Justin Wang and Andrew Lin. Wang went 6-for-13 to rack up 18 points in addition to five assists and four blocks, while Lin went 6-for-13 en route to 20 points along with seven boards and five assists. Wang is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in each of the last 14 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Thomas Hoppner, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

More has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season. The victory (which was Basis Independent Silicon Valley's fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-5.

More does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Basis Independent Silicon Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 60-45 win against Pinewood on the 22nd.
