Basketball Recap: Aiden Hemphill's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Franklinton over Bunn

It was a good run, but Franklinton unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 52-40 to the Bunn Wildcats. The Red Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 46-42.

Franklinton lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Aiden Hemphill, who posted 11 points. That's the most points Hemphill has posted since back in November of 2024. Chan Thomas was another key player, putting up seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bunn to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaac Bailey, who scored 13 points in addition to eight boards and five blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Rice, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Franklinton now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Bunn, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.

Franklinton has already played their next match, a 61-58 defeat against Roanoke Rapids on the 3rd. As for Bunn, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-49 loss against Southern Nash on the 4th.
