Softball Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

Independence was the 14-11 winner over Walnut Ridge when they last played one another back in April of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The 76ers came up short against the Scots on Wednesday, falling 17-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Walnut Ridge, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Independence will take on rival Africentric Early College at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Walnut Ridge is set to challenge their familiar foe Briggs at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
