Basketball Recap: Matt Ecker Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat New Foundations

Jenkintown had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 67-44 margin over New Foundations on Friday. This was payback for the Drakes, who suffered a 65-50 loss the last time these two teams met.

Jenkintown's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matt Ecker, who posted three points in addition to ten assists and three steals. Those ten assists gave Ecker a new career-high. Vinny Avila was another key player, putting up 14 points.

New Foundations' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Jenkintown has already played their next matchup, a 59-35 loss against Springfield Township on the 29th. As for New Foundations, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-42 victory against Philadelphia Montgomery Christian Academy on the 29th.
