Football Game Preview: Soddy Daisy Trojans vs. Lenoir City Panthers + Official Tickets

The Soddy Daisy Trojans will head out to challenge the Lenoir City Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Soddy Daisy has given up an average of 27 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 42-7, which was the final score in Soddy Daisy's tilt against East Hamilton on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while the Hurricanes are ranked 42nd).

Meanwhile, Lenoir City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell 35-28 to Ooltewah. While the Panthers had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Owls 7-0.

Soddy Daisy will need to focus on slowing down Trea Jones, one of several Lenoir City players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 179 yards while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Jay, who rushed for 85 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries.

Lenoir City's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Soddy Daisy, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Everything came up roses for Soddy Daisy against Lenoir City in their previous matchup back in September of 2020, as the squad secured a 56-23 victory. In that matchup, the Trojans amassed a halftime lead of 28-2, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
