Somerset extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-3. They received a blow as they fell 81-64 to the Sharyland Rattlers. On the bright side, the 64- point performance marked the Bulldogs' highest-scoring matchup to date.

When it comes to explaining why Somerset lost, don't look at Evelyn Hernandez. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine boards. Hernandez has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Julianna Antopia was another key player, putting up 16 points.

As for Sharyland, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 70.0 points this season.

Sharyland's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alisela Rangel, who dropped a double-double with 28 points and 13 rebounds. Those 28 points gave Rangel a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ebonie Chatman, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine boards.

Somerset didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-21 loss against Liberty Hill on the 14th. As for Sharyland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 66-15 win against YWLA at Arnold on the 13th.
