Flag Football Recap: St. Lucy's Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Adrienne Ortiz and Emma Ramirez

St. Lucy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. The contest between the Regents and the Los Osos Grizzlies didn't end well, with the Regents falling 47-31. Even if the Regents couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Emma Ramirez and Adrienne Ortiz certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Ramirez rushed for 95 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries, while Ortiz picked up 128 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

St. Lucy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Los Osos, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11-1.

St. Lucy's and Los Osos could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Regents (ranked 555th) will meet Rancho Cucamonga (ranked 188th) at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Los Osos will challenge Etiwanda at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (396 vs. 27).
