Basketball Recap: Hollywood Gets the Win

Hollywood won the last time they faced Belmont, and Tajdre Gayle did his part to make sure it happened again. The Hollywood Sheiks simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Belmont Sentinels 83-41 thanks in part to Gayle, who dropped a double-double with 26 points and ten steals. He has become a key player for Hollywood: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three steals, but 8-9 otherwise.

The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Gonzalez, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 13 boards. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

The win got Hollywood back to even at 10-10. As for Belmont, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-11.

Hollywood has already played their next contest, a 62-47 victory against Robert F. Kennedy Community on the 10th. As for Belmont, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 107-25 loss against Bernstein on the 10th.
