Basketball Recap: Terrence Hayes Jr.'s Big Game Can't Quite Lead 21st Century Charter over Whitney Young

The 21st Century Charter Cougars didn't have quite enough to beat the Whitney Young Dolphins on Monday and fell 66-63.

21st Century Charter lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Terrence Hayes Jr., who went 6-for-13 on his way to 20 points along with five blocks and four steals. Jerry Triplett III was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards.

21st Century Charter's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

21st Century Charter will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bowman Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 5. As for Whitney Young, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 61-46 victory against Jefferson on the 25th.
