Football Recap: Camdenton Takes a Loss

Camdenton extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-7. They came up short against the Capital City Cavaliers, falling 49-28. The Lakers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cavaliers from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

As for Capital City, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.3 points on average over those games.

Evan Schaffer was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 180 yards and four scores on only 11 carries. Those four rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Capital City also got a significant boost from Jaylen Thomas, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 80 yards.

Camdenton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 63-0 win against Southeast on the 24th. As for Capital City, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 27-10 loss against Belleville East on the 24th.
