Two dominant backs in Gavin Gutierrez and Malaki Davis are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. After each having a week off, the Servite Friars and the Centennial Huskies will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Servite is headed into this one coming off a big win against nationally ranked Orange Lutheran (Servite was ranked 65th at the time). The Friars had just enough and edged out the Lancers 30-28. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Friars have posted against the Lancers since October 20, 2017.

Servite's win last Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kale Murphy, who threw for 164 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Centennial was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 316 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 187 rushing yards in seven consecutive matchups.

Centennial didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Boogie Williams and Jaden Walk-Green. Williams got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Servite's record is now 6-4. As for Centennial, their record now sits at 9-1.
