The Flour Bluff Hornets will head out to challenge the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are still undefeated after eight games, but that won't be the case come Thursday.
On Thursday, Flour Bluff took their game with ease, bagging a 66-14 win over Donna North. Fans of the Hornets have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Lucian Cruz and Samuel Smith were among the main playmakers for Flour Bluff as the former threw for 310 yards and six TDs while completing 78.9% of his passes and the latter gained 116 total yards and three touchdowns. Those six passing touchdowns gave Cruz a new career-high. Jacob Cain also helped with two scores in total.
Meanwhile, Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North really took it to Weslaco East for the full four quarters, racking up a 34-7 victory. The Raiders are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout on Friday was the sixth matchup they've won by 20+ points this season.
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North's win came from a few key players Flour Bluff will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Daren Garcia, who threw for 183 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Andrew Alvarado was another key rusher, gaining 144 total yards and a touchdown.
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 260 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Weslaco East only rushed for 90.
Flour Bluff's record is now 8-0. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North, their record now sits at an identical 8-0.
We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Flour Bluff has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 398.5 total yards per game. However, it's not like Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North struggles in that department as they've been averaging 434.2 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Flour Bluff won a contest that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in November of 2024, slipping by Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North 28-27. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Raiders' Ethan Guerra, who rushed for 187 yards and a pair of TDs, and also caught one score.
