Softball Recap: Limestone Triumphs

Limestone barely beat Farmington the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Limestone blew past Farmington 8-1 on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Rockets in their matchups with the Farmers: they've now won seven in a row.

LIZ GRUBE made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. GRUBE was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on ALLISON MEHN, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was MCKINLEY ALLISON, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Limestone's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Farmington, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Limestone will face off against Galesburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Farmington, they will square off against Gibson Southern at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
