Basketball Recap: Lakeside Christian Takes a Loss

Lakeside Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Canterbury Crusaders 70-29. The contest marked the Lions' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Canterbury's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylen Thomas, who went 8 of 15 on his way to 17 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Thomas is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Roman Wilder, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Lakeside Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Canterbury, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Lakeside Christian Lions face off against the Foundation Christian Academy Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Foundation Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season. As for Canterbury, they will venture away from home to challenge Sarasota Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
