Soccer Recap: Watertown Takes a Loss

Watertown lost against Stone Memorial back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Purple Tigers fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 3-2. While losing is never fun, Watertown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 280th, while Stone Memorial are ranked 93rd).

Watertown has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Stone Memorial, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Watertown will host Westmoreland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Watertown are facing Westmoreland at the right time seeing as Westmoreland are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Stone Memorial, they will welcome Anderson County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
