Softball Recap: North Greene Takes a Loss

Liberty hit North Greene with a 11-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Spartans lost 21-9 to the Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 15-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Adilynn Churchill was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

North Greene has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Liberty, their victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2.

Looking ahead, North Greene will be playing at home against Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season.
