Volleyball Recap: East Helena Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Caydee Cookson and Lauren Betz + How To Watch

If East Helena was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Park on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vigilantes came up short against the Havre Blue Ponies on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Vigilantes have struggled against the Blue Ponies recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

While East Helena had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-22, 25-22.

East Helena's loss came despite strong showings from Lauren Betz and Caydee Cookson. Betz had 18 digs, while Cookson had 31 assists. Cookson is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last 11 games she's played.

East Helena's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Havre, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-6-1.

Looking ahead, East Helena will be playing in front of their home fans against Billings Central Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Havre, they will venture away from home to challenge Sidney at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
