Basketball Recap: Johnson-Brock Piles Up the Points Against Palmyra

A well-balanced attack led Johnson-Brock over Palmyra in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Johnson-Brock Eagles blew the Palmyra Panthers out of the water with a 59-20 final score. The Eagles pushed the score to 50-15 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers had no chance of recovering from.

Johnson-Brock's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chloe Vice, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 17 points in addition to eight steals and seven boards. Those 17 points gave Vice a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Taryn Ottemann, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards.

Johnson-Brock pushed their record up to 1-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.1 points. As for Palmyra, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Johnson-Brock will take on Falls City at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Palmyra, they will challenge Mead at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
