Basketball Recap: Cahokia Skates Past Roosevelt with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Cahokia's strategy against Roosevelt on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Cahokia Comanches blew the Roosevelt Roughriders out of the water with an 81-18 final score. The matchup marked the Comanches' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Cahokia's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cornelius Griffin, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Griffin a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Armon Smith, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 16 points.

Cahokia's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Roosevelt, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Cahokia will take on Normandy in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th at. Cahokia knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Normandy likes a good challenge. As for Roosevelt, they will square off against Collegiate Medicine & Bioscience at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
