Baseball Recap: Dover-Eyota Victorious

After losing to Rushford-Peterson the last time they met, Dover-Eyota decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Eagles walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Trojans on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Luke Meyers was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Meyers was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mat Matejka, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025. Tyeson Mullikin was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Dover-Eyota lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Dover-Eyota now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Rushford-Peterson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.

Coming up, Dover-Eyota will be playing in front of their home fans against Cotter at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rushford-Peterson, they will square off against Fillmore Central/Lanesboro at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
