Recap: Pawnee Heights Tigers vs. Central Christian Academy
The Pawnee Heights Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 49-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Central Christian Academy.
Despite the loss, Pawnee Heights still got an impressive performance from Davin Hamby, who scored 26 points along with 3 steals. Hamby scored a full 63.4% of Pawnee Heights' points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jimmy Gardner, who scored 6 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Pawnee Heights has fallen quite a ways from their 15-7 record last season and are now at 0-3. As for Central Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pawnee Heights will take on Wheatland-Grinnell at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Wheatland-Grinnell comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 17 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Central Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Fairfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
