The Desert Vista Thunder will venture away from home to face off against the Corona del Sol Aztecs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Corona del Sol took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Desert Vista, who comes in off a win.

Desert Vista took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past Nogales, posting a 61-0 victory. The contest marked the Thunder's most dominant win of the season.

Desert Vista got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kyler Drunasky out in front who rushed for 108 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries, and also picked up 48 receiving yards. Seth Hanson was another key passer, throwing for 145 yards and three TDs on only 11 passes.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Desert Vista, adding 17 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jaeden Williams, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Corona del Sol fell victim to ALA - Queen Creek and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a blow against the Patriots, falling 31-0. The matchup was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly the Aztecs struggled afterwards.

Desert Vista couldn't quite finish off Corona del Sol in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 and fell 42-39. Thankfully for the Thunder, Domonick Ruiz (who picked up 226 receiving yards and three scores, and also rushed for 36 yards and a pair of touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time.
