Football Recap: Drayton Finds Playoff Glory Versus New Town

Drayton had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 56-46 win over the New Town Eagles on Saturday. The Bombers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Trenten Keena produced another solid effort rushing for 200 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last ten games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Chey Sehrt, who picked up 88 receiving yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Drayton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 266 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Drayton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Trypp Castillo. Mason Pollestad was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making nine total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Drayton's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for New Town, they dropped their record down to 5-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

As of now, neither Drayton nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
