Baseball Recap: Osceola Wins Going Away Against St. Petersburg

Osceola had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt St. Petersburg on Thursday. Everything went the Osceola Warriors' way against the St. Petersburg Green Devils as the Osceola Warriors made off with a 10-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won three games by six runs or more so far this season.

Jackson Berglund tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ethan Futch and Vincent Ferrell did most of the damage at the plate: Futch scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-5, while Ferrell scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Futch continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Easton Stegbauer also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Osceola has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. St. Petersburg has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Osceola will challenge Wesley Chapel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Petersburg, they will take on Calvary Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
