Football Recap: Lexington Comes Up Short

Lexington extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 3-7. They lost 38-17 to the River Bluff Gators. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 24-10 to the Gators when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Lexington still got an impressive performance from Markel Byrd, who rushed for 112 yards, and also picked up 59 receiving yards and one score.

As for River Bluff, the win got them back to even at 5-5. Considering they have won four contests by more than 20 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Hayden Myers produced another solid performance rushing for 300 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.7 yards per carry. Those 300 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. River Bluff also got help from Darius Carter, who showed off his sure hands for 99 receiving yards.

As of now, neither Lexington nor the Gators have any future games scheduled.
