Softball Recap: Slaughter Community Charter Comes Up Short

Slaughter Community Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Holden Rockets, falling 21-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 15-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2017.

Slaughter Community Charter saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Brister, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Conlee Flotte (Holmes CC) was another, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.

Slaughter Community Charter's record is now 0-6. As for Holden, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-7.

Coming up, Slaughter Community Charter will host Catholic of Pointe Coupee at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holden, they will venture away from home to square off against Springfield at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.5 runs per game on average), something the Rockets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
