Baseball Recap: Minneapolis Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Minneapolis challenged Ellsworth on Friday. The Lions fell just short of the Bearcats by a score of 5-4. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Bearcats: they've now lost nine in a row.

Minneapolis' defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Ellsworth, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-11.

Looking ahead, Minneapolis will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Russell. The Broncos' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Ellsworth will be paying especially close attention to Minneapolis' contest: after Minneapolis faces off against Republic County, they'll take on Ellsworth again on Friday.
