Baseball Game Preview: Immanuel Eagles vs. Yosemite Badgers

Immanuel has gone a perfect 3-0 against Yosemite recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. Immanuel will look to defend their home field against Yosemite at 11:00 a.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Immanuel 4.1, Yosemite 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Immanuel's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Golden Valley. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won three games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Owen Boys and Lucas Pettitt did most of the damage at the plate: Boys scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Pettitt scored a run and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. What's more, Boys posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Rasmussen, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Immanuel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Golden Valley only managed two hits.

Meanwhile, Yosemite has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.89 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They came up short against Fresno Christian, falling 12-2. The Badgers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Yosemite's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Immanuel, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.

Immanuel beat Yosemite 9-4 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Does Immanuel have another victory up their sleeve, or will Yosemite turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
