Football Recap: Minnechaug Regional Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Minnechaug Regional and Hingham squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Minnechaug Regional had to settle for second. They lost 36-14 to the Harbormen. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts football rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Harbormen are ranked 29th).

Jack Lucarelle threw for 157 yards and one TD. Liam Metzger was his top target, picking up 76 receiving yards.

Hingham was led to victory by Jake Varholak and Riley Bello. Varholak threw for 165 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes, while Bello gained 132 total yards. That's the most passing yards Varholak has posted since back in September of 2024.

Minnechaug Regional has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Hingham, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Minnechaug Regional does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hingham, they will take on Malden Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
