Recap: Manor New Tech vs. Caldwell Hornets
After flying high against the Austin Achieve Polar Bears on Tuesday, Manor New Tech came back down to earth. Manor New Tech lost to Caldwell at home by a decisive 41-24 margin on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Manor New Tech in their matchups with Caldwell: they've now lost three in a row.
Caldwell's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avelynn O'riley, who scored ten points. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her. Ava Jones was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Manor New Tech has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season. As for Caldwell, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-15-1.
Manor New Tech will square off against La Grange at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Caldwell, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Taylor at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Taylor has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 474 points over their last seven games.
