Football Game Preview: Faulkton Trojans vs. Burke Cougars

The Faulkton Trojans will take on the Burke Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Faulkton's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.

Faulkton is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Northwestern Area 53-6. Considering the Trojans have won four contests by more than 33 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Burke played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Centerville 50-6. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Faulkton will need to focus on slowing down Elijah Bartling, one of several Burke players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 37 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 42 yards.

Faulkton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.4 points over those games. As for Burke, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
