Baseball Recap: Queen Creek Takes a Loss

Queen Creek was the 10-6 winner over Higley when they last played one another back in February of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Queen Creek fell 8-5 to Higley on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kobe Gomez was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Gomez was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Gomez wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Ferreira, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Ferreira also brought in two RBI, marking his first of the season. Diego Armenta was another, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Even though they lost, Queen Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Queen Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Higley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

While Queen Creek had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
