Basketball Recap: Wadley Takes a Loss

Wadley easily dispatched Notasulga on Wednesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Wadley Bulldogs fell just short of the Handley Tigers by a score of 58-56 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 312th, while the Tigers are ranked 140th).

When it comes to explaining why Wadley lost, don't look at Frisco Robertson. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 12 on his way to 20 points. Robertson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Damarious Spraddling, who posted 17 points and six assists.

Wadley's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Handley, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-8.

Wadley has already played their next contest (against Woodland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Handley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
