Basketball Game Preview: Sayre Redskins vs. Wyalusing Valley Rams

The Sayre Redskins will head out to challenge the Wyalusing Valley Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Wednesday, Sayre lost to Wellsboro at home by a 45-28 margin. The Redskins have struggled against the Hornets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite their defeat, Sayre saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Abbie McGaughey, who posted ten points and five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Rylee Lantz, who had no points in addition to seven boards, four steals, and four blocks.

Meanwhile, Wyalusing Valley had to suffer through a 54-20 loss at the hands of Northeast Bradford. The matchup marked the Rams' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Sayre's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Wyalusing Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Sayre was dealt a bruising 61-21 defeat at the hands of Wyalusing Valley when the teams last played back in January. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Sayre was down 35-9.
