Basketball Recap: Ponte Vedra Skates Past Bartram Trail with Ease

Ponte Vedra won the last time they faced Bartram Trail and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Sharks claimed a resounding 70-35 victory over the Bears. The Sharks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 31 points or more this season.

Maddox Palmer had another great game (as he tends to do), shooting 55% from the field en route to 20 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The game was his eighth in a row with at least 18 points. Tyler Kroog was another key player, putting up 12 points and four steals.

Ponte Vedra smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Louis Jones and Darian Wright certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Jones posted six points, while Wright put up eight points.

Ponte Vedra has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Bartram Trail, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Ponte Vedra has already played their next game, a 69-66 defeat against Nease on the 5th. As for Bartram Trail, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-44 loss against Beachside on the 5th.
